Spyros Papapetropoulos MD, PhD is a Member of the Board of Directors of CogniBiome Therapeutics, Inc.. an accomplished physician-scientist, biotechnology executive, entrepreneur, and corporate board leader with more than 25 years of experience advancing innovative therapies for neurological diseases. He currently serves as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of Phragma Therapeutics, interim CEO and Executive Director of Neuphoria Therapeutics (NASDAQ: NEUP), and Founder of Encephalos Life Sciences.

Throughout his career, Dr. Papapetropoulos has held senior leadership positions at Vigil Neuroscience, Acadia Pharmaceuticals, SwanBio Therapeutics, Cavion, Biogen, Allergan, Pfizer, and Teva. He has successfully led the development of small molecules, biologics, gene therapies, digital health technologies, and AI-enabled discovery platforms, overseeing more than 25 investigational new drug (IND) programs, multiple regulatory submissions, and global product launches.

An experienced board member and advisor, Dr. Papapetropoulos has served on the boards of numerous public and private biotechnology companies and has played key roles in strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and financings totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.

Before entering industry, he held academic appointments at the University of Miami School of Medicine and Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed fellowship training in Movement Disorders at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London and has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed publications. His expertise in neuroscience, drug development, corporate strategy, and company building provides invaluable guidance to CogniBiome as it advances microbiome-based solutions for cognitive health and healthy brain aging.
